You recently  just got hooked up  by Capita, Union, 686 and Rad Gloves…..how did all this happen?

Jeremy Burns from Rad gloves was the first to hook me up. I think he saw an edit that Mitch Ayers did of me in Tahoe and gave me a shot. Andy Lloyd was probably the biggest help in getting me on Capita Union and 686 as he recommended me. An opportunity to film for the Mountain Dew comp came up with Cohen Davis and Andy so I guess it was good timing mixed in there as well.

What’s it like riding for such big brands in the Snowboarding industry?

Its pretty cool to get a bunch a free stuff.  Half of your stuff usually gets taken by your mates like Izzy though. Then the boys write you off for putting stickers on your board so it’s a pretty tough. Cohen is the team captain normally so it takes a bit of the pressure to perform off. Maybe ill call the shots one day but he does better in comps and gets more girls too.

So what’s involved in a regular day as Nic Harvey?

Half vita brits half some sort of delicious cereal. Then check all the overnight sports scores, mainly the baseball in the winter. Text around to hustle a ride up the hill as my car is dead. Meet up with the boyzos in front valley, throw some high fives and give out plenty of back ground props when the boys do kewl stuff and head back down to Jindy. Jump on my 7 speed mongoose and break my best time from home to work at Banjos.

You recently won Best trick at Cattlemans rail jam, what was it and how did you come up with the idea?

I knew I hadn’t landed enough tricks to get anywhere near the podium so I figured I would try something different. Most things had been done on the rail but I hadn’t seen anyone gapping to the flat of the kink rails. It’s a bit sketchy as there is a rock wall and another rail there that you can catch on but I thought it was alright. I gave it a crack and missed the first one and I think people thought I accidently landed on the flat. I got it the second or third time I think

You  won the 1st stop at the Perisher Night Series and also the Analog design unlikely features competition, how does it feel to compete against the likes of Jye Kearney and win?

After the year Jye had last year, wining everything I didn’t hold much hope of winning anything this year, or ever, as im getting a bit older and a bit more washed up. But ive had a couple of good weeks so hopefully I can keep it going and maybe get him a couple of more times. But I don’t think it will be long before he starts winning again though.

Do you like to compete, do you have any plans on competing in any of the bigger Aussie comps like stylewars?

Competing is fun. I stated out doing it last season and I was shitting myself before most of my runs, but I think that was because I didn’t know anyone and thought I had to prove myself. I lived with most of the Perisher crew and met some of the Thredbo crew in America in their winter so im a lot more relaxed going up against them now. It’s a pretty sweet vibe at the comps, everyone hoping everyone does well.

I’m going down for style wars. It will be nice to ride a TTR slope style course; I’ll probably go back to shitting myself before the run though…Catch ya then!
